MLK Boulevard Clean-ups

Team REAP obtains Adopt-A-Street designation for MLK Boulevard.

A top priority that emerged from the REAP community solutions engagement sessions was neighborhood beautification. So we have partnered with the city of Springfield’s Adopt-A-Street program and are sprucing up MLK Boulevard between Cook Street and South Grand Avenue. Two garbage cleanups were completed in 2018 including adding flower pots and a third cleanup was completed in February 2019 to make us eligible for our official Adopt-A-Street designation. Our 2019 schedule includes clean-ups and adding more flowers and planters on April 13, July 13 and October 12.
